Cobiax

By embedding recycled plastic void formers in concrete slabs, Cobiax voided slab system reduces the amount of concrete used and building weight without compromising on its structural integrity. Lighter buildings need less support elements like beams or drop panels. The soffit is also flatened out, allowing for the design of larger, more open spaces. Less mass also improves building performance against seismic activity.

Originating from Switzerland, this internationally patented system can be implemented using in-situ and precast methodology and reduces 210kg of carbon emissions per cubic metre of concrete displaced by Cobiax.
