SWIRL is a smart, unmanned aerial vehicle platform designed to detect and classify defects in tunnels. Customised and optimised for autonomous operation, it can capture high fidelity images with its 360-degree rotating camera system that supports undistorted imaging of the tunnel‘s inner surface with only one camera. The images taken are combined to create a composite, panoramic-like picture.
