Ronnie Tan

Ronnie Tan is the Creative Director of Landscape at WATG, a preeminent global leader in luxury hospitality design that has just crossed its milestone 80 years in 2025. He is an accredited Landscape Architect and is the Immediate Past President of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA). In his role at SILA, he represented the profession at various think-tanks and committees, and was a member in the Future Economy Council (FEC) Built Environment (BE) Sector Sub-Committee chaired by the Minister for National Development. He has also chaired the Singapore Landscape Architects Accreditation Advisory Committee and was an initiator to the establishment of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) programme in the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Ronnie has research interests in autonomous urbanism, parametric design application for landscape architecture and sustainable urban development and has taught at the School of Design, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, and NUS Cities, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) where he led transdisciplinary research studios in architecture, landscape architecture and urban design, with a focus on sustainability and climate resilience within the highly urbanized city context.

Ronnie specializes in landscape architecture, master planning, urban design and ecological design and has worked on a myriad of projects of varying scales ranging from master plans to private developments.
