Dr. Adrian Ang was part of the first batch of PhD scholarship awardees under the NU POLY-SIT PhD Scholarship program, which was launched in 2013. This program provided him with the opportunity to pursue his doctorate at Newcastle University, UK, further advancing his expertise and contributing to his leadership in sustainability and innovation.
Dr. Adrian currently serves as the Director of Group Sustainability & New Business at Chye Thiam Maintenance Group, where he leads efforts to expand the company’s market footprint and develop new service segments. Working closely with the CEO, he plays a central role in shaping the Group’s strategic direction, overseeing strategic investments, government relations, and the Centre of Excellence (COE). He also drives the company’s sustainability initiatives.
Prior to joining CTM, Dr. Adrian conceptualised and led the Integrative Built Environment Centre at Temasek Polytechnic, the first of its kind in Singapore. He was an Associate Faculty member at Newcastle University, where he taught Energy Storage in the MSc Energy and Sustainability program. Dr. Adrian also co-led and provided training for the inaugural National Environment Agency’s (NEA) regulatory course on “Refrigerant Handling for Technicians.”
Dr. Adrian holds several leadership roles, including Chairman of the Sustainability Sector Committee at The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), and Council Member of IES. He is also a US LEED Accredited Professional, Chartered Engineer and a Certified Project Manager.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to public service and the community, Dr. Adrian was awarded the Public Service Medal by President Halimah Yacob in 2019.
