SG Mark 2019 Awards Ceremony
Missed out on the Singapore Good Design Awards Ceremony 2019? Check out the video featuring highlights and winners of SG Mark 2019. Held at the enchanting Gardens by the Bay, it was a memorable evening where the design and business communities came together to celebrate the betterment of business by design and the winners of this year\’s SG Mark.
In recent years, Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) has registered a steady increase in participation by local and international companies. In 2019, we witnessed a 10-20% increase in submissions from the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups, with entries for the product category more than doubled. We believe that this is largely due to the greater appreciation and recognition of the value of design across every sector, particularly among the SMEs.
We’ve always believed that design does not exist in a vacuum. In our efforts to incorporate technology into our ecosystem of the design and business communities, we are constantly seeking new partnership opportunities with organisations and government agencies to collaborate more closely in fulfilling our Mission & Vision.
Taking in feedback from different groups, we have streamlined the previous 3 broad categories to 6 specific groupings for easy identification and submission, with a 7th one being our yearly Special Category. The theme for this year’s Special Category is ‘Sustainable Design’. It was created in consideration to the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint (https://www.mewr.gov.sg/ssb) and the larger UN Sustainable Development Goals. It also echoes the general desire and sentiments across countries, industries and social groups in wanting to balance production/service efficiency with environmental considerations.
I invite you to join us in applying exceptional and responsible principles and processes in designing your offerings to make the world a better place for ourselves and our future generations.
